The average cost of a wedding in Bexar County is between $17,294 and $28,823, according to CostOfWedding.com. So how can couples save money while still making their big day a reality?

Blame it on the alcohol
If having a bar is important to the couple, there are a couple of ways to save money.
It’s something my mom always said:’You don’t invite people to a party and then expect them to pay,’ said Tracy French of The French Connection.
Couples can host the bar themselves and pre-purchase things like wine and beer rather than taking on the cost of a full bar. But that’s only if the venue will let the couple bring their own alcohol.
Of course, couples also can use their bar to add to the theme of their wedding with a signature drink. Alcohol doesn’t have to be a kicker for the couple’s budget as long as they take control of what’s being served.
